Post-Graduate studies

Hi everyone, today it's time to talk about my plans after finishing my major.
One of my biggest goals once I finish my major is, in fact, to study a master's degree. I really like academia and research, so I think it is relevant to keep improving myself.
Once I finish my major (in three years more), I hope to be able to study International Relations, because I would like to work in the research area of an international organization. The subjects I would like to study there are particularly gender studies and human rights, because I am much more interested in humanitarian work issues than in international economics specializations.

As I mentioned in a previous blog, although I would like to continue my studies in France, I also like the option of studying in England because it has very good universities. I would love to have the possibility to do a master´s degree in Europe, especially for the cultural exchange it can offer me; however, if it is not possible (either because of money or time issues), I will do it at the University of Chile (at the Institute of International Studies).

I would like that, wherever that I will study, I can do it through face-to-face classes, because it would help me to learn in a better way :) and also, obviously if it is not in Chile, I would have the opportunity to get to know other places.

That's all for today!

  3. Hi Catalina! I also would like to study in Europe! The areas of study that you mentioned are really important, and I think that everyone who works in politics and public administration should know about them (even minimally). I hope you can achieve your goals <3

Time travel to the future

Hello everyone, today I will talk about what my hypothetical trip to the future would be like! I would like to visit Chile, because although I have plans to do things in other countries, in Chile is all my family and my roots. I am especially interested in knowing what will happen in ten more years, because scientists say that at that time (2030) is the limit to stop the consequences of climate change, so I am very curious to know if we will achieve it or not.   About Chile, I would love to be able to see if the dreams and hopes we have now are a reality, when a couple of years of the New Constitution have passed. I hope to finally see a Chile without unfairness, with protection of human rights and, most importantly, with opportunities for all. I wouldn't like to stay there, I just want to take a look at it. This is because I understand that I must forge my own way and I don't want to skip any of the experiences that will take me there. Also because, whether good or bad w...

Changes to my study program

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well! Today I will talk about some changes I would make to the curriculum of my major: Political Science. To start with, I want to talk about the University. I study at the University of Chile, known throughout the country for its tradition and prestige, which entails a heavy workload for students of all majors. Regarding Political Science, although I really enjoy what I study, it is true that sometimes the academic load is quite big: it requires a lot of reading, critical analysis and knowing a little bit of everything. However, the design of the curriculum is pretty good, all semesters have a correlation between them, which makes learning continuous and comprehensive. I would only change the regulation of the work load. Until this year I did not know the School of Government and Public Administration (which is where my major is taught). When I met it, I found it to be very welcoming, but also very small. However, I would not change anything about ...

English Language Challenges

Hi everyone, today I will tell you about my experience taking the English courses at the college.  It has been pretty good, but it has been difficult to connect in the online college context.  I started doing the English II course and it has always been a pretty easy course to take if you are consistent and do your homework. Currently, because the major has become more difficult, it has been hard for me to follow the speed of the course, but I am trying to practice and complete all the assignments so as not to lose the rhythm, which is very important to learn English. About the use of the blogs, I consider that they have helped me a lot to share experiences with my classmates, even if we have never spoken personally. I really enjoy reading about their experiences, dreams and goals, as it motivates me to keep working on mine.  In relation to my English, I am very good at reading it, but I still need to practice speaking it. It's complicated because I'm generally very shy a...
