TV Series

Hello everyone! Welcome to this week's blog, today it's our turn to talk about TV series.

Currently, because of the weight of college work, I've been limiting myself to watching series that distract me and don't necessarily make me think too much. In that sense, I've been watching the latest season of "The Circle", a Netflix original reality series: a competition where all the interaction is through online profiles, and they must be eliminated according to how strong friendships and alliances they can create only through chat. It's very funny, ridiculous and easy to watch (that kind of series that is so bad it's good).

To watch series, I usually use the Netflix platform (because that's the one I have downloaded on my TV), however, I also really like Disney+, especially to watch TV series from my childhood. On Netflix, my comfort series is "RuPaul's Drag Race", I have watched each of the 13 seasons more than once (plus the 6 All Stars and some spin-offs, even though those are not on the platform), my favorite seasons are the sixth and twelfth.

However, because it has been so far my favorite series during the pandemic, I would like to recommend you to watch "The good place". It's about a woman who dies and arrives to what is supposed to be paradise, however, she arrives there by mistake, so she has to pretend that she is a good person so the rest don't realize she doesn't belong there and send her to the "bad place". It's a very good series, with lots of plot twists and extremely funny. Also, if you like philosophy and politics, it's perfect, since there are many references to ancient philosophers and a strong criticism of the ethics behind the capitalist system.

Now, and despite the fact that only a couple of weeks ago a season was released, I'm already looking forward to the fourth season of Sex Education :(

That's all for today, I hope you enjoyed my blog!

I'll be reading your comments.

Changes to my study program

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well! Today I will talk about some changes I would make to the curriculum of my major: Political Science. To start with, I want to talk about the University. I study at the University of Chile, known throughout the country for its tradition and prestige, which entails a heavy workload for students of all majors. Regarding Political Science, although I really enjoy what I study, it is true that sometimes the academic load is quite big: it requires a lot of reading, critical analysis and knowing a little bit of everything. However, the design of the curriculum is pretty good, all semesters have a correlation between them, which makes learning continuous and comprehensive. I would only change the regulation of the work load. Until this year I did not know the School of Government and Public Administration (which is where my major is taught). When I met it, I found it to be very welcoming, but also very small. However, I would not change anything about ...

My best vacation: Cuba

Hi, in this week's blog I will talk about my best vacation.   This was before the pandemic (when we were all happy haha), we had a hard time deciding the destination, because it would be the last family vacation before my brother and I went to college (in the end I took a year off so it wasn't like that lol).  After discussing it with my parents and my older brother for several months, we came to the agreement to travel to Cuba for 10 days, the first days of March 2019.  We went to a hotel in Varadero where we were treated very well and met a lot of Chilean families. The week, although most of the time was spent at the hotel, we also went to Havana and Cayo Blanco.  The thing I loved most about going to Cuba was having the opportunity to visit Havana and see the Plaza de la Revolución, as well as the political and social history of the city.  Here are some pictures of the trip! I hope you enjoyed my blog, I will be reading your comments!

My future job

Hi everyone! today i will talk about my future job! A s a start, I would like to have a job where I can do research, especially on topics related to human rights, gender and sexual diversity. I see myself in an international organization, but near my old age I would like to be a professor at a University. This is because research will demand that I move to many different places, while academic work will give me the stability I will need when I get older.  Because of the working conditions, this would be mostly in an office, but I think it is always important to go outdoors to learn at first hand about the problems that I will try to solve. In this context, I also consider that I will have to travel a lot, which is an idea that I really like. One of the big reasons that I chose this future is because of the possibility of getting to know new cultures, as well as the chance to continue to improve myself as a professional. As for the salary, I will be satisfied if it is enough to live...
